Matt Turns 25

Happy Birthday to Matt! Today, Matt turned 25. I wish my post would be more exciting than what you are about to read, but Matt didn't want to do a whole lot on his birthday, so I obeyed his wishes.
Of course we had 2 church services this morning like usual. It was awesome! God's presence filled the house. After church, Matt wanted to go to Skip One (a seafood restaurant) for all you can eat crab legs. I wasn't too thrilled, but once again, it is HIS birthday. There were about 20 of us that went. We had a great time celebrating Matt. After lunch, we came home to Courtney's (Matt's Cousin) graduation party that my in-laws were having in our backyard. The family and some close friends were there. Matt is napping now, but we are getting ready to head to Jeremiah and Sarah's for a night with just the 4 of us. I made an Oreo Pudding Pie and Taco Soup and Cornbread to take over for dinner. We are going to watch some movies and probably play Wii. That is all Matt wants to do.
Each day I love Matt more and more, but I like the fact that today is a day set aside to honor and celebrate Matt's awesome life. He is such a man of God and an example to me everyday. I thank God each chance I get because I truly am blessed to have Matt as a husband!

And Our Precious Toby

I love cats so much and I begged Matt for one about a month after we were married. We went to PetCo and adopted an orange and white kitten. He was born exactly one week before we were married, so I told Matt we just HAD to get him. We named him Toby and he is the greatest kitty!

I couldn't leave Toby out of the posts, so here a some pictures of him!! Isn't he the cutest!

Our Puppy Jake

Matt and I got a dog back in April. His name is Jake and he is an Australian Sheppard. He is a lot like a German Sheppard, but a little calmer. I don't really know why they say he is calmer because he hasn't shown us that side yet. He is a very sweet, loving dog, but he still does things that "puppies" do.

While we were gone on our cruise, Jake decided he wanted to dig a huge hole in our flower bed so he could lay down in the cool soil. Of course I got angry because now we have to replant our flowers, but eventually, I laughed it off. My mom and I went shopping and had to get a few things at Target before she went back to Alabama. She found this huge bone and said, "Why don't you get this for Jake. Maybe it will keep him occupied and he won't dig so much." Needless to say, Jake loved the bone. He even shares it with Nathaniel's dog, Larry. I just had to post pics with this huge bone. I mean this thing weighed a good 12lbs.

Bahama Mama

We are home from the cruise and let me tell you, it was a blast. My mom came into town along with one of her friends. Matt's mom and dad, as well as Sam and Dawn Vnega came on the cruise also.

Sunday morning, we woke up and drove to Ft. Lauderdale. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast and got on the boat around 2p.m. We played a little round of mini golf and walked around the rest of the ship to see what all was on it.

Monday was a day at sea. We practically stayed at the pool ALL DAY LONG. It was so nice to finally be out in the sun and have no worries. On Tuesday we were at Grand Turk. We hung out on the beach, snorkeled, and went to Margaritaville. We were only there for a few hours before we left that port. We saw lots of fish hanging out around the big drop off. The water was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

Wednesday we were at Princess Cays, the private island owned by the cruise line. It was perfect weather. We snorkeled, rode a banana boat, and layed out in the sun. We saw lots of fish and had a wonderful BBQ lunch.

The cruise was wonderful and we had an amazing time. I wish it could have been longeer. It was nice getting to see my mom for the week and experiencing her first cruise with her.

Life Church Softball

Last night, Life Church had their 3rd game of the season. I usually play, but last night I wasn't feeling well. Matt and I are on the same team and it's always fun to share a hobby with my husband. Life Church won 9-8, but it was a very sloppy game. Matt got thrown out by his own coach because he pitched a little hissy fit after missing a ball in the outfield. For me, I socialized with all the other wives that come out to watch their men play. Friday nights at the ball field are always so much fun. We look forward to it each and every week. Next week, we have another game and I will actually play in it.

Well, I will be away on vacation from Sunday to Thursday on a cruise. Be expecting a cruising blog with pictures!!!
